About the CEO

Javier Richart is the CEO of MK4 Group since 2020, a leading Spanish company specialized in the design, innovation, and supply of advanced technological solutions for civil engineering, bridges, and landmark structures, with a presence in more than 51 countries.

He holds an MSc in Civil Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC) and an Executive MBA with Honors from ESADE Business School. He also completed a certificate in Entrepreneurship and New Ventures at Babson College. Javier has a strong professional interest in structural engineering, particularly in the design and performance of complex bridge structures and infrastructure systems.

Javier is responsible for strategic planning, digital transformation, operations, and international business development across the group. Over more than two decades at MK4, he has developed a deep and comprehensive understanding of the business, having held leadership positions in commercial, operational, and executive roles, which has provided him with a strong 360-degree vision of the company and the international infrastructure market.

Throughout his career, he has played a key role in MK4’s international expansion, leading market development initiatives, setting up subsidiaries and joint ventures, and promoting licensing agreements in strategic regions including the Middle East, Europe, Asia, and Australia. He is particularly recognized for his ability to build long-term business relationships with international contractors, partners, and public stakeholders.

Before becoming CEO in 2020, Javier served as Co-CEO, COO, International Manager, Regional Sales Manager, and Commercial Engineer within the group. Among his main achievements are the creation of MK4’s international sales structure, the implementation of strategic growth plans, and the consolidation of MK4 as a fully international company.

In parallel with his executive responsibilities, Javier is also an Associate Professor at ESIC Business & Marketing School, where he teaches subjects related to strategic management, SME globalization strategies, cross-cultural negotiations, and business management agreements.

He is a native speaker of English, Spanish, Catalan and French. Outside work, he enjoys playing tennis, teaching his children to ski, and spending time with his family in the lovely Minorca and Cerler.
